School Council

Pupils at Beckwithshaw were given the opportunity to apply to be a house representative on our new School Council. After receiving a number of applications, those who had applied presented to their house persuading them to vote for them. The votes were counted and the results was announced during assembly. Congratulations to our new School Council house representatives:

Swinsty – Florence, Amy and Flo

Scargill – Oliver & Olivia

Thuscross – Thomas & Alesha

Fewston – Bethany and Bonnie

Our new School Council is in place so that pupils have a voice and are involved in decisions about the school that affect them. Through our School Council all pupils have the opportunity to raise issues, share ideas and take part in discussions. Each half term we will hold a School Council assembly within our house groups so all pupils can voice their thoughts and opinions on a specific agenda to their house representatives. The house representatives will then meet to share and take part in a discussion on the ideas received and they will reach a democratic decision. Pupils at Beckwithshaw know that this is their school and their thoughts and ideas matter.
